Same Day Crowns With Advanced Technology

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It permits us to develop crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental technology, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire treatment takes in between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have needed two visits. The very first visit consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. Throughout the 2nd visit, the short-term crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the whole procedure can be finished in just one visit. We will use video imaging innovation to photograph the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to develop the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling machine that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to get a temporary along with a 2nd visit.

Corrective dentistry treatments can be very important to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Today's Topic Is About:

Fillings

Fillings are done to remove decay, and replace the afflicted tooth structure. It is called a filling due to the fact that brand-new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can cause tooth discomfort and/or infection, and the tooth would require a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists supply both types of fillings, but find that a number of their patients prefer the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mixture of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings offer great durability and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that have to stand up to moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is eliminated when the dentist prepares the tooth, and this may lead to a smaller filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively attached, to the tooth, typically enabling a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry throughout the whole filling procedure and they undergo stain and staining in time. The life expectancy of a white filling can depend greatly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also typically utilized to repair front teeth that have actually chipped or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is normally much more economical than veneers or crowns. However, bonding usually does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
