Don't have time for the normal two dental appointment crown?

Technology today is changing our everyday lives. Many people, however, aren't aware that technology also is impacting dentistry in new and exciting methods.

Advanced innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, causing less pain and producing gratifying outcomes.

One development instrument, called same day crowns, allow dentists to rapidly restore damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, saving patients time and inconvenience.

What are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, indicates that a dental practitioner can economically restore broken teeth in a single visit using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, incorporating a camera, computer, and milling machine in one instrument.

The dental practitioner utilizes a special camera to take an accurate picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist utilizes CAD innovation to develop the restoration. The CAM takes control and immediately creates the restoration while the patient waits.

Finally, the dental practitioner bonds the brand-new restoration to the surface area of the old tooth. The whole process takes about 2 hours.

What does this innovation mean for a client?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings tarnishing smiles. The filling is natural-looking, suitable with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dental practitioners don't have to produce temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the traditional 2nd appointment has actually been removed.

Same day crowns have 20 years of medical research and documentation to support the technology. The restorations have been proven accurate, safe and efficient.

How can I learn if this is an choice for me?

Today We Will Be Reviewing:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Spotting issues with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to spot:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Huge on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and precisely.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the patient and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a big format for much easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images electronically for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
