Same Day Crowns - A Smart Innovation

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It permits us to produce crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental innovation, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Normally, a crown in the past would have needed two appointments. The first appointment includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. Throughout the second appointment, the short-term crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the entire procedure can be finished in just one visit. We will use video imaging innovation to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling machine that carves the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to wear a short-term in addition to a second visit.

Corrective dentistry treatments can be crucial to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment in which we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific situations where a tooth has been damaged or become stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable methods instead of through a more expensive dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the alignment of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material sticks to the surface area. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a glossy finish as a last step.
