Single Visit Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be requiring a dental treatment that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you might be beginning to dread the time you will have to invest at the dentist's office. At our dental practice, we offer a great time-saving solution for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we incorporate state-of-the-art technology and treatments to provide our patients with the best restorative, preventive, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who have to get dental crowns, we are really pleased to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is normally made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to connect bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to reinforce a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a seriously tarnished tooth that has to be brought back to its original, appealing appearance.

Generally getting a dental crown is a prolonged procedure. The dentist will have to take impressions, offer you with a short-term crown, await the crown to be returned from a lab, then have you come back to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about two hours.

Our same day crowns are produced in our practice thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM stands for "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take images which are then computer-analyzed and used to create a crown.

This crown is actually milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and eliminate any need to send out impressions or photos to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to come back for a second appointment.

You also will not have to get a temporary crown, because our permanent crown will be immediately offered to you.

If you want to meet with our dental practitioner to learn more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, contact our office.

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
