A Couple Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a typical dental procedure that is typically required when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has broken down to the point where a filling will not work.

Typical crowns are fairly troublesome to obtain, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a great option due to the fact that they are more convenient and lead to less pain:

Less Pain

A conventional crown can result in pain for a couple of factors, but among the biggest sources of pain and discomfort is an outcome of needing to get a temporary crown.

A short-term crown is applied as a placeholder to secure your exposed tooth till your long-term crown can be delivered to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.

The problem with a temporary crown is that they are not very strong, which means that they can break or come loose really quickly.

A damaged or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both which can trigger a fair bit of discomfort if they reach the exposed nerves underneath the temporary crown.

Another source of discomfort originates from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can get to the point where it can get fairly uncomfortable and begin to bleed, which also opens up the path for potential infections.

Fortunately, a same-day crown will supply you with a long-term crown at the end of your very first visit to the dental practitioner.

This eliminates the requirement for a short-term crown, hence permitting you to avoid all the pain and discomfort.

More Convenient

A standard crown is not a very convenient procedure to have carried out, primarily since it usually takes at least two visits to finish.

If your temporary crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will need to make another visit to have it fixed. This can be a big problem if you have a busy schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents taking some time off in the middle of a busy work day.

Nevertheless, a same-day crown can be finished in a single day, with a single visit. This is made possible due to the fact that lots of dentists will acquire the equipment to make their own crowns, instead of needing to order crowns from a dental laboratory.

This lets you prevent the hassle of having to potentially invest weeks and several appointments to your dental practitioner before the treatment is over and done with.

Speak to your dental practitioner and inquire about the benefits offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can supply you with a convenient and reasonably pain-free alternative to a traditional crown.

Today's Conversation Is About:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment in which we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be used in specific scenarios where a tooth has been broken or ended up being stained. These are usually minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly inexpensive methods instead of through a more expensive dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the alignment of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface area. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a shiny finish as a last step.
