If you have a fractured or broken tooth, are experiencing pain when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperature levels, or want to get rid of unsightly metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be an excellent option for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface of the affected tooth, adding toughness and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are an option that we provide on a case by case basis to clients who would benefit from the procedure. They allow clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This gets rid of the need to have a temporary crown placed and then another visit scheduled for the positioning of the final crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our brand-new technology that scans the mouth to obtain the appropriate measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are very strong and resilient and made out of the highest quality porcelain available. Sometimes, a gold crown might be recommended for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clinch your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the cost may differ between the two and you may wish to talk about your budget as well with the your dental practitioner. Your dentist will go over with you the types of crowns available and offer you a suggestion based upon your certain circumstance.

Call us to arrange a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to meeting you.

The Topic Of The Day Is:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal therapy. As soon as this occurs, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not recover by itself. It can even deteriorate the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be extremely unpleasant. Signs that the pulp has actually ended up being infected might consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no signs appear and the person is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. As soon as the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is recommended for recovering a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
