Single Visit Crowns - A Smart Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It allows us to produce crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental technology, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire treatment takes between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Usually, a crown in the past would have required 2 visits. The very first appointment includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. During the second appointment, the short-term crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the whole procedure can be completed in just one visit. We will use video imaging technology to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling machine that carves the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to get a temporary in addition to a 2nd visit.

Restorative dentistry procedures can be crucial to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

The Discussion Of The Day Is:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is essential when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find issues early). Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal treatment. Once this takes place, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be very uncomfortable. Symptoms that the pulp has become infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no signs are apparent and the person is unaware of any issue till a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. When the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is recommended for recovering a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
