Our practice loves new technology, especially when it improves the dental care that we can provide to our patients. Because of this we now offer same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a terrific new technology where lovely all porcelain crowns are produced within 2 hours of the preparation of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dentist prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a laboratory to have the crown built. Throughout this time the patient would need to wear a temporary plastic crown that was always uncomfy.

Today, our equipment enables us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the client leaves our practice with the final crown that day!

  • There's no need to wear a temporary crown for 2 or 3 weeks.

  • There is no need to return once again to have the single visit crown placed on your tooth.

  • There's no need to be numbed once more! No more shot needles!

Our practice prefers same day crowns due to the fact that it is made of beautiful material as well as exceptionally long lasting.

If your thinking about a same day crown, please give our office a call.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device created to replace missing teeth. The device is usually made out of titanium and is surgically put into the jawbone where the tooth is missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures might not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants provide a smile that looks very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and function as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants offer stability since they fuse to your bone, a process called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some people also discover the secure fit is more comfortable than traditional alternatives. Candidates for dental implants should have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

How Involving Is A Dental Implant?

A dental implant might be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this treatment, a little titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which additionally slows or stops the bone loss that takes place when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is firmly embeded in the mouth, the dental practitioner then works to attach the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent option has the advantages over bridge work that it does not stress the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can merely be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be used as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an alternative to partial dentures, and has numerous advantages. First, there is no modification period to acclimatize the client who, once the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no discomfort or trouble in eating. And, best of all, of course, they do not need to be taken out all the time.
