Porcelain Tooth Veneers
Veneers are a very thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and appealing smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
As with a lot of dental restorations, veneers might someday require replacement; however, they are still extremely durable and will last many years, offering you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is normally referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique generally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the very first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is usually less uncomfortable. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and lovely veneers.
