The Benefits Of Getting Same Day Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It allows you to have your dental crown put in place in simply one dental visit.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which mimics the appearance of your natural teeth thus making it aesthetically pleasing. It does not cause temperature sensitivity which is true in the case of dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same durability as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more precise. The impression made from this brand-new technology is more precise compared to traditional impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while traditional dental impression is done using sodium alignate.

The only downside of a same day crown is that not all patients are candidates for this procedure. Patients with extensive tooth damage that has reached the gum line requires a standard crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth requires a laboratory-manufactured crown since they are diligently made than same day crowns.

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If unattended and required to extremes, surgery might be needed to repair a severely damaged joint.
