Why Do They Call Them Same Day Crowns?

This state-of-the-art technology permits your dental practitioner to take accurate pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single appointment. Same day crowns offer exceptional convenience, value, and precision to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process includes three basic steps. 1st, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take highly accurate photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, he downloads these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, designs your custom-fitted crown. 3rd, your dental practitioner will send the design to their in-office accuracy milling device which develops the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for extra strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will position it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We only use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide incomparable strength, durability, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth prep work and preserve more of your tooth structure.

Standard crowns need 2 office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a magnificently fixed tooth.

You can avoid the trouble and possible risks related to uncomfortable short-term crowns.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment where we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in specific situations where a tooth has been broken or become stained. These are usually minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly inexpensive means rather than through a more expensive dental procedure.

How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a lustrous finish as a last step.
