If you have a fractured or busted tooth, are experiencing pain when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperature levels, or want to get rid of unsightly metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be an excellent option for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface area of the affected tooth, adding durability and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are an option that we provide on a case by case basis to patients who would benefit from the treatment. They enable patients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This gets rid of the need to have a temporary crown placed and then another check-up arranged for the positioning of the final crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our new innovation that scans the mouth to get the appropriate measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, and then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are extremely strong and resilient and made out of the highest quality porcelain available. In many cases, a gold crown might be suggested for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clinch your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the expense may differ between the two and you might want to talk about your budget as well with the your dental practitioner. Your dentist will go over with you the types of crowns available and give you a recommendation based upon your certain circumstance.

Call us to arrange a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to meeting you.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used in a wide range of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

Today We Will Be Talking About:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is required when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and detect issues early). Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also trigger the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal treatment. Once this takes place, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even weaken the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and may be extremely agonizing. Symptoms that the pulp has actually become infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no symptoms are apparent and the individual is unaware of any problem until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. When the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
