What Are Same Day Crowns?

The same day crown is a technology for restoring damaged teeth, and this restoration can be finished in a single visit to the dentist's office. It makes your teeth tougher and more lovely, all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free, and the state-of-the-art ceramic material works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

More About The Same Day Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dentist will go over the details of the procedure and your dental practitioner will address any questions you may have. Your dental practitioner will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to produce your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If untreated and required to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a badly damaged joint.
