If you have a fractured or broken tooth, are experiencing pain when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperatures, or wish to get rid of unattractive metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be a good choice for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface area of the affected tooth, adding sturdiness and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are an option that we provide on a case by case basis to patients who would benefit from the procedure. They enable patients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This eliminates the need to have a temporary crown placed and then another appointment set up for the placement of the final crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our brand-new innovation that scans the mouth to obtain the proper measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are really strong and resilient and constructed of the highest quality porcelain available. Sometimes, a gold crown might be suggested for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clench your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the expense may differ between the two and you may wish to discuss your budget plan as well with the your dental practitioner. Your dental practitioner will go over with you the kinds of crowns available and give you a recommendation based on your certain circumstance.

Call us to schedule a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to talking to you.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery may be required to repair a terribly damaged joint.
