What Are Single Day Crowns?

It is a technology for restoring broken teeth, and this restoration can be completed in a single visit to our office. It makes your teeth tougher and more lovely - all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the top-quality ceramic material and is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

Throughout your appointment, you and your dentist will talk about the details of the procedure and your dentist will answer any concerns you might have regarding the procedure or porcelain crowns in general.

Your dental practitioner will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the brand-new proprietary software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, it will use a diamond burs to develop your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Today Were Discussing:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it requires root canal therapy. As soon as this occurs, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it needs to be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be very painful. Symptoms that the pulp has actually become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no signs appear and the individual is unaware of any issue until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. As soon as the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is recommended for bring back a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
