IMPLANTS IN ONE DAY

Updated On Sunday, November 18, 2018 05:59:47 PM

Our practice likes new technology, particularly when it improves the dental care that we can offer to our clients. Because of this we now provide same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a wonderful brand-new technology where lovely all porcelain crowns are produced within two hours of the preparation of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dental practitioner prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a lab to have the crown constructed. During this time the patient would need to wear a temporary plastic crown that was normally uncomfortable.

Today, our equipment enables us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a brand-new all porcelain crown within 2 hours. This means that the patient leaves our office with the final crown that day!

  • There is no need to wear a short-term crown for two or three weeks.

  • There's no need to return once more to have the one day crown placed on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed again! No more shot needles!

Our practice likes same day crowns because it is made of lovely material as well as exceptionally durable.

If your thinking about a same day crown, please give our practice a call.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover issues early). Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also trigger the nerve to be damaged to the point it needs root canal treatment. Once this occurs, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not recover by itself. It can even deteriorate the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be really agonizing. Symptoms that the pulp has actually become infected might consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no symptoms are apparent and the individual is unaware of any issue up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. Once the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is recommended for bring back a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
