Why Do They Call Them Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge technology enables your dentist to take precise pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and place a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single appointment. Same day crowns provide exceptional convenience, value, and precision to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of 3 basic steps. First, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take highly precise images of your tooth and the surrounding structures. 2nd, he downloads these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, designs your custom-fitted crown. 3rd, your dentist will send out the design to their in-office precision milling device which develops the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for added strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will put it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to produce our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide incomparable strength, resilience, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth preparation and maintain more of your tooth structure.

Traditional crowns require 2 office visits. With same day crowns, you can come into our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a beautifully fixed tooth.

You can avoid the inconvenience and potential threats associated with ill-fitting temporary crowns.

Today Were Reviewing:

Fillings

Fillings are done to eliminate decay, and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling because brand-new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can result in tooth discomfort and/or infection, and the tooth would require a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists supply both types of fillings, but find that a lot of their patients prefer the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings supply great resilience and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that have to stand up to moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is removed when the dental practitioner prepares the tooth, and this might lead to a smaller filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively connected, to the tooth, typically allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry during the whole filling process and they go through stain and staining over time. The life expectancy of a white filling can depend significantly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also typically utilized to fix front teeth that have cracked or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is generally much more economical than veneers or crowns. However, bonding typically does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
