Why Are These Crowns Called Same Day Crowns?

This state-of-the-art innovation enables your dentist to take precise pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and place a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns offer exceptional convenience, value, and precision to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of 3 basic steps. 1st, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take highly precise photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, creates your custom-fitted crown. 3rd, your dentist will send the design to their in-office accuracy milling machine which creates the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for additional strength and esthetics, your dentist will position it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide unparalleled toughness, sturdiness, chip and stain resistance, and natural beauty.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth preparation and maintain more of your tooth structure.

Standard crowns require 2 office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come into our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a wonderfully fixed tooth.

You can prevent the inconvenience and possible risks related to uncomfortable short-term crowns.

Gum Disease (Periodontal Disease)

Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. Since gum disease is typically painless, you may not know you have it. Also called periodontal disease, gum disease is caused by plaque, the sticky film of bacteria that is continuously forming on our teeth.

Some warning signs that may indicate a problem:

  • gums that bleed too quickly.

  • red, inflamed, sore gums.

  • gums that have actually pulled away from the teeth.

  • persistent foul breath or bad taste.

  • permanent teeth that are separating or loose.

  • any change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite.

  • any change in the fit of partial dentures.

There are many factors that enhance the risk of establishing gum disease consisting of smoking cigarettes, pregnancy, and diabetes. It is essential to visit your dentist if you think you have gum disease because the faster you treat it the better.

The early stage of gum disease is called gingivitis. If you have gingivitis, your gums might end up being red, swollen and bleed easily. At this phase, the disease is still reversible and can typically be removed by a professional cleaning at your dental office, followed by day-to-day flossing and brushing.

Advanced gum disease is called periodontitis. Chronic periodontitis can cause the loss of bone and tissue that support the teeth and it might become more severe over time. If it does, your teeth will feel loose and start moving around in your mouth. It normally gets worse slowly, however there can be periods of rapid progression.

Aggressive periodontitis is a highly destructive type of gum disease that happens in patients who are otherwise healthy. Common features consist of rapid loss of bone and tissue and may happen in some areas of the mouth, or in the entire mouth.

Research in between systemic diseases and gum diseases is ongoing. While a link is not conclusive, some research studies show that serious gum disease may be associated with numerous other health conditions such as stroke or diabetes.

Routine dental appointments and periodontal examinations are extremely important. The treatment techniques that most dental practitioners diagnose will rely on the kind of disease and how far the condition has progressed. Excellent dental care in your home is necessary to help keep gum disease from ending up being more severe or recurring.
