What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

There are multiple advantages to having treatment with same day crowns over traditional, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is carried out in a single appointment, you only need to see the dentist once, take one day from your routine to have the procedure, instead of the normal 2 or 3 appointments.

  • Only one anesthetic injections, because the whole treatment can be performed within an hour you just need to have one injection.

  • Your dentist remains in complete control of the final result, because the crown or inlay are designed and produced from start to finish by your dental practitioner, they have total control over how it will fit and look.

  • No temporary restorations, which can frequently fall off in between appointments if they are not taken care of appropriately.

Today's Topic Is:

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device created to replace missing teeth. The device is normally constructed of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the teeth are missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and traditional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants provide a smile that looks extremely natural. Surgically put below the gums over a series of visits, implants fuse to the jawbone and work as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants provide stability since they fuse to your bone, a process called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some people also find the secure fit is more comfortable than conventional substitutes. Candidates for dental implants must have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

What Does A Dental Implant Involve?

A dental implant might be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this treatment, a little titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which in addition slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is firmly set in the mouth, the dentist then works to connect the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent option has the advantages over bridge work that it does not need the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can merely be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be used as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an option to partial dentures, and has a number of benefits. First, there is no adjustment period to acclimatize the patient who, when the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no pain or problem in eating. And, best of all, of course, they do not need to be taken out all the time.
