Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays a vital function in our practice. This remarkable development in chair side dentistry offers us the tools to develop, produce, and position crowns, inlays and onlays in a single appointment.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The conventional technique to a crown or inlay and onlay typically needed a return visit after the patient waited (with a temporary restoration in the tooth) for about two weeks while the restoration was manufactured in a different laboratory. Same day crown CAD/CAM innovation removes the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns use a special camera to take an accurate photo of the broken tooth. This optical impression is transferred and shown on a color computer screen, where the dentist utilizes CAD (computer-aided design) software to create the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes control of and automatically mills the restoration while the client waits. At last, the new restoration is bonded in place.

The whole procedure takes about one hour, and there are no frustrating temporaries or second visit needed!

Proven Technology

With two decades of clinical research and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, same day crowns have actually shown to be a an efficient, safe and convenient innovation that we are delighted to provide to our clients.

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. Today's Subject Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Detecting issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, expensive procedures or surgeries. X-rays are mostly used to find:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Big on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the client and the doctor to see images of the teeth in greater resolution on a big format for easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also allows us to send out and get your images electronically for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
