Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a stunning and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to a lot of dental restorations, veneers may one day require replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last years, giving you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.
How Are Veneers Applied?
Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy normally involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy usually involves 2 visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory produced veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is generally less unpleasant. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care guidelines for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and beautiful veneers.
