Single Visit Crowns With Advanced Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It enables us to develop crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental technology, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have required two visits. The first visit includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. Throughout the second visit, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the whole procedure can be finished in simply one visit. We will use video imaging innovation to take a photo of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to create the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling device that sculpts the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to wear a short-term in addition to a second visit.

Restorative dentistry treatments can be extremely important to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of a lot of clients, there are multiple methods to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth significantly. Because tooth lightening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple methods: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 various strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and practical whitening process. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients like this treatment since it is so easy and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays must be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
