Porcelain Teeth Veneers
Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers may someday require replacement; however, they are still really long lasting and will last multiple years, providing you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is positioned over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy usually involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is usually referred to as bonding.
The indirect method usually involves 2 visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is usually less uncomfortable. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care instructions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your new and stunning veneers.
