Why Choose Single Day Dental Crowns?

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one visit, saving you substantial time away from your job and family.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no requirement for a temporary crown, which removes significant possible pain and inconvenience of a lost temporary restoration. Only one visit means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was previously treated with a root canal. No conventional impressions resulting in no gagging.

  • Aesthetics: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this new technology restores your teeth to their natural durability, beauty, and function and carefully match the structure of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is stronger than the standard method of layering and pressing, so your smile will remain gorgeous for multiple years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and technology can also be used for fillings. Since they are made out of porcelain, they are more resilient than white composite fillings. They are a lot more aesthetic than mercury including silver fillings and tougher because of bonding innovation.

Dental Crowns

A crown (or cap) is a covering that covers the whole tooth surface area restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and reinforces the tooth structure providing the tooth a longer life span than it would have if recovered by fillings or other types of restorations.

Crowns are full coverage restorations that are utilized to cover a tooth that is likely to break, or is too broken down to be recovered with a filling. They are most typically done after root canal treatments, or when a large filling breaks. The bigger the hole made by a cavity that has to be treated, the more likely a crown will be required. Even after a filling is put in a big cavity, a tooth is more likely to break. Remember that the jaw muscles are the strongest in the body. Teeth are subjected to tremendous pressures. Crowns sit over the weakened tooth, offering strength and protecting the tooth against damage. A broken or split tooth is a much more severe matter and far more hard to treat. Crowns prevent this, in addition to making for a nice smile.

It takes two visits to recover a tooth with a crown. In the first visit any decay is eliminated from the tooth and it is shaped to accept the crown. Then an impression is made of the tooth for use in fabricating a crown. Between the two visits the crown is made, normally of high-strength porcelain over gold alloy, all ceramic product, or gold. A short-term crown is used during this time. In the 2nd visit this short-term crown is removed. Then the {permanent crown is adjusted as needed and then cemented in place.

Exactly What Does Getting A Crown Include?

A crown procedure normally needs two appointments. Your first appointment will consist of taking impressions that will be utilized to develop your custom crown. A mold will also be utilized to develop a short-term crown which will stay on your tooth for approximately two weeks up until your brand-new crown is fabricated by a dental lab.

While the tooth is numb, the dentist will prepare the tooth by eliminating any decay and forming the surface area to properly fit the crown. When these details are achieved, your short-term crown will be put with short-term cement and your bite will be inspected to ensure you are biting correctly.

At your 2nd appointment your short-term crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your new crown will be carefully placed to guarantee the spacing and bite are precise.

You will be given care instructions and encouraged to have routine dental check ups to inspect your crown. As always, correct oral hygiene will help extend the life of your new crown.
