Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays an essential function in our practice. This remarkable innovation in chair side dentistry provides us the tools to design, produce, and set crowns, inlays and onlays in a single appointment.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The conventional technique to a crown or inlay and onlay often required a return visit after the client waited (with a temporary restoration in the tooth) for about two weeks while the restoration was made in a different laboratory. Same day crown CAD/CAM technology eliminates the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns utilize a special camera to take an precise picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is moved and shown on a color computer screen, where the dentist utilizes CAD (computer-aided design) software to design the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes over and immediately mills the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, the new restoration is bonded in place.

The whole process takes about one hour, and there are no bothersome temporaries or second appointment required!

Proven Technology

With twenty years of medical research and more than 20 million restorations carried out worldwide, same day crowns have proven to be a an efficient, safe and convenient technology that we are delighted to offer to our patients.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used in a wide scope of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

The Topic Of The Day Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Discovering issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, pricey treatments or surgeries. X-rays are primarily utilized to detect:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a large format for easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also allows us to send and get your images electronically for consultation that can be provided to you rapidly.
