Why Pick Same Day Crowns?

It is essential for a individual to have a strong and healthy set of teeth. However, there are some cases where dental cavity formation is inevitable. It is often caused by the person's diet, habits and hygiene. Cavities that are not fixed early might cause extensive damage to the tooth's enamel which might need a dental crown to restore its natural appearance and function.

A dental crown is a cap formed like a tooth which is used to cover the tooth that has actually gone through substantial damage triggered by dental cavities. Getting it usually requires two dental appointments. Throughout the first appointment, your broken tooth is cleaned up and the decayed part is removed. The dentist will then get the impression of your tooth that needed the crown and will send it to a dental laboratory where traditional dental crowns were made. It could be made from a metal, ceramic or porcelain material. Only during the second appointment, your custom-fitted dental crown is cemented to your broken tooth.

With the advancement in dental technology, the process of getting and wearing a dental crown has been made readily offered. Dentists use the new technology in making inlays/onlays, crowns and veneers. After your broken tooth is prepared, they will use an intraoral camera that will take the picture of your affected tooth and have it uploaded to a computer. It will use a computer-aided design in taking the digital impression of your teeth and the impression is sent to the computer-aided manufacturing device which will mill a color-matched ceramic block to your same day crowns. Choosing a same day crown over a traditional dental crown has its advantages and downsides.

The Conversation Of The Day Is:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is essential when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and detect issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal therapy. Once this takes place, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even weaken the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and might be very agonizing. Signs that the pulp has actually become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no signs appear and the individual is unaware of any issue till a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. Once the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
