Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full range of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today's Topic Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Spotting problems with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are primarily utilized to identify:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The concern of exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Huge on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It allows the patient and the doctor to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a large format for much easier detection of problems, all while reducing the radiation direct exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also enables us to send and get your images electronically for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
