Updated On Wednesday, September 19, 2018 12:42:06 AM

If you have a fractured or damaged tooth, are experiencing discomfort when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperatures, or want to remove unsightly metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be a great choice for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface of the affected tooth, adding durability and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are a choice that we provide on a case by case basis to patients who would benefit from the procedure. They enable clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their permanent dental crown in place that same day. This removes the need to have a short-term crown placed then another check-up arranged for the placement of the final crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our brand-new technology that scans the mouth to obtain the appropriate measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are really strong and durable and constructed out of the highest quality porcelain available. In many cases, a gold crown might be recommended for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clinch your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the cost may vary between the two and you may wish to discuss your budget plan as well with the your dentist. Your dentist will discuss with you the types of crowns available and offer you a recommendation based upon your particular circumstance.

Call us to schedule a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to talking to you.

Today's Topic Is About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of a lot of clients, there are numerous methods to whiten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth lightening system that will lighten teeth considerably. Since tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous methods: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 different strengths of gel may be used, however, the higher the strength, the greater the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is suggested for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely quick and convenient bleaching procedure. The visit is around one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment since it is so easy and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays ought to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
