The Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a typical dental procedure that is typically required when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has deteriorated to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Normal crowns are relatively bothersome to get, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a terrific option due to the fact that they are more convenient and lead to less pain:

Less Pain

A standard crown can result in discomfort for a couple of reasons, but one of the most significant sources of discomfort and pain is an outcome of having to have a short-term crown.

A temporary crown is applied as a placeholder to secure your exposed tooth up until your long-term crown can be delivered to your dentist. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks.

The issue with a short-term crown is that they are not extremely strong, which indicates that they can break or come loose extremely quickly.

A busted or loose short-term crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both which can trigger a fair bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves underneath the short-term crown.

Another source of discomfort comes from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can get to the point where it can get fairly unpleasant and start to bleed, which also opens the path for possible infections.

Thankfully, a same-day crown will provide you with a permanent crown at the end of your very first visit to the dental practitioner.

This gets rid of the need for a temporary crown, therefore enabling you to avoid all the discomfort and pain.

Makes Sense

A traditional crown is not a very hassle-free treatment to have performed, mostly because it generally takes at least two appointments to finish.

If your temporary crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will have to make another appointment to have it fixed. This can be a big problem if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents requiring time off in the middle of a busy work day.

Nevertheless, a same-day crown can be finished in a single day, with a single visit. This is enabled since lots of dental practitioners will buy the equipment to make their own crowns, rather than needing to order crowns from a dental laboratory.

This lets you avoid the trouble of needing to possibly invest weeks and several appointments to your dentist before the treatment is over and finished with.

Speak with your dentist and inquire about the benefits provided by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can provide you with a hassle-free and fairly pain-free alternative to a standard crown.

Today's Discussion Will Be About:

UltraSonic Tooth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for many adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, eliminating microorganisms and eliminating plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help keep optimal gingival health.

  • The treatment only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can eliminate tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling often uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning process is much faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits then polished.
