The Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental procedure that is frequently required when somebody's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually degraded to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Normal crowns are fairly troublesome to obtain, but there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a terrific choice due to the fact that they are more convenient and result in less discomfort:

Less Pain

A conventional crown can lead to discomfort for a few factors, but one of the most significant sources of pain and discomfort is an outcome of having to have a temporary crown.

A temporary crown is applied as a placeholder to safeguard your exposed tooth until your permanent crown can be provided to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.

The problem with a short-term crown is that they are not extremely strong, which means that they can break or come loose very quickly.

A broken or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both which can cause a fair bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves beneath the temporary crown.

Another source of discomfort comes from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can get to the point where it can get quite unpleasant and start to bleed, which also opens up the path for potential infections.

Thankfully, a same-day crown will supply you with a permanent crown at the end of your very first visit to the dental practitioner.

This gets rid of the need for a temporary crown, thus allowing you to avoid all of the pain and discomfort.

Convenient

A conventional crown is not a very convenient treatment to have performed, mainly due to the fact that it normally takes at least 2 visits to complete.

If your temporary crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will need to make another appointment to have it changed. This can be a huge issue if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents taking time off in the middle of a hectic work day.

Nevertheless, a same-day crown can be finished in a single day, with a single appointment. This is enabled because many dentists will purchase the equipment to make their own crowns, rather than having to order crowns from a dental lab.

This lets you prevent the hassle of having to possibly invest weeks and multiple appointments to your dentist before the treatment is over and finished with.

Speak with your dentist and inquire about the benefits offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can offer you with a practical and fairly pain-free option to a standard crown.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Ultra Sonic Tooth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for many adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and eliminating plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help maintain optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling commonly uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning ideal to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning process is faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits and then polished.
