There are different types of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
The entire mouth is analyzed and a determination is made as to which teeth will have to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are put in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular functionality and appearance return and one simply continues as usual. Typically implants can be used to further support the dentures.
It is necessary to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you are able to eat, your confidence in social situations, and even your self-esteem.
A Few Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the very same arch
- Restore chewing capability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other treatments
An upper complete denture will often feel much better than a lower full denture. In order to considerably improve the fit of a lower complete denture, we frequently suggest using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially enhance comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has been in use for numerous years.
