SAME DAY CROWN

Updated On Friday, August 17, 2018 10:24:27 PM

Same day crowns are a dental restoration innovation that enables a dental practitioner to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration using computer-assisted technologies, including 3-D photography and CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing).

Same day crowns allows dentists the versatility to restore teeth in a single sitting with a client, instead of the numerous visits required with other methods!

Same day crowns have actually been proven by numerous clinical research studies and is provided by countless dental practitioners to millions of clients around the world each year!

Same day crowns not only saves you money and time, it can also conserve your teeth!

Dental X-rays are unable to penetrate metal crowns, making any decay undetectable until it was far too late.

Same day crowns use a strong porcelain that x-rays can penetrate. This indicates any degeneration beneath the restoration can be found and fixed before it becomes a major problem.

Since same day crown technology use a milling device to mill the ceramic into your customized restoration, the porcelain is stronger than those developed by hand. And, the computer-assisted technology can develop an nearly identical restoration of the previous tooth.

Today's Discussion Will Be About:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a badly damaged joint.
