Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you quickly be needing a dental procedure that will cause you to require a dental crown? If so, you might be beginning to fear the time you will have to invest at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we provide a terrific time-saving solution for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have expert and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we incorporate advanced innovations and treatments to offer our patients with the very best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who have to get dental crowns, we are really pleased to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is generally made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to reinforce a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a seriously tarnished tooth that needs to be restored to its initial, attractive look.

Typically getting a dental crown is a lengthy procedure. The dental practitioner will have to take impressions, supply you with a temporary crown, await the crown to be returned from a lab, then have you come back to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice clients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are created in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM represents "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to produce a crown.

This crown is in fact milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and eliminate any need to send out impressions or images to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to come back for a second appointment.

You also will not need to get a crown, because our permanent crown will be instantly available to you.

If you would like to consult with our dental practitioner to learn more about same day crowns or to get a same day crown, call our office.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery might be required to repair a terribly damaged joint.
