Two Reasons To Talk To Your Dental Practitioner Concerning Same Day Crowns

Same day crowns are a fantastic choice that makes getting a crown much more practical and less time-consuming. These crowns work in similar way as traditional crowns, other than that same-day crowns are made in the dentist's office while you are waiting, rather than being ordered from a dental lab like traditional crowns.

Listed below are two reasons to speak to your dental practitioner about the possibility of getting a same day crown:

A lot more Convenient

Convenience is going to be the biggest reason that many individuals decide to opt for a same-day crown.

In the past, getting a crown would mean that you would need to pay numerous appointments to your dentist before the crown was in position, with one visit dedicated to preparing your tooth and another visit to position the long-term crown over your tooth.

While that might not appear like it is too time-consuming, it can frequently be hard to take some time off from your job or family numerous times in the length of a week or two in order to see your dental practitioner during regular business hours.

Because the same-day crown is produced in-house by your dental practitioner, you will have the last crown fitted over the tooth before you leave from your one required crown visit.

This is handy due to the fact that you won't need to fret about irritating your employer, having your colleagues cover for you, or missing out on pay since you needed to leave in the middle of the work day multiple times to go to the dentist.

A Lot More Comfortable

Another reason to ask your dentist for a same-day crown is comfort. Same day crowns are more comfortable because you won't have to spend a week or more wearing a temporary crown while waiting for your permanent crown.

A short-term crown can frequently give a fair bit of inflammation and pain since it can frequently end up being loose easily.

When a short-term crown is loose, it can enable liquids to get under it and touch nerves in the exposed roots of your tooth. The loose fit can also trigger the short-term crown to move along your gum and trigger the skin to end up being scratched and swollen.

While you usually do not have to have a short-term crown for long, a same-day crown can enable you to avoid any issues associated with the temporary crown entirely.

This kind of crown is going to be both a lot more comfortable and far more convenient to get than a traditional crown.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure where we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in certain situations where a tooth has been broken or ended up being stained. These are generally minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably inexpensive means rather than through a more expensive dental procedure.

How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface area. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a glossy finish as a last step.
