Same day crowns are an innovative dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, split, or cracked teeth. This technology can produce full crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown machine crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made from compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are stronger than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most useful feature of receiving a same day crown restoration is that it is achieved in one appointment. In addition to the benefit of a one appointment restoration, there is no unpleasant impression material to bite on or a short-term crown to wear.

The procedure for placement of a same day crown restoration is very basic. The initial step is to get rid of all decay from the tooth. The dentist will then form the tooth in preparation to take a digital picture. The tooth is then sprayed with a really fine powder. This allows the digital camera to take an acceptable image. Once this image is captured, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will permit the dentist to develop the restoration right in front of you.

Once the design is finished, the same day crown device will mill the restoration. This step takes roughly 15 minutes. You can actually see this process if you would like. When the restoration is finished milling, the dental practitioner will position the restoration on your tooth.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Spotting issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, costly procedures or surgeries. X-rays are primarily used to discover:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Large on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and precisely.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the doctor to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a large format for much easier detection of problems, all while reducing the radiation exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also allows us to send and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
