Single Visit Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be needing a dental procedure that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you may be starting to dread the time you will need to spend at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we provide a great time-saving solution for you. We offer same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we integrate advanced innovations and treatments to provide our patients with the best restorative, preventive, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who need to get dental crowns, we are really delighted to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is usually made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a severely discolored tooth that needs to be restored to its original, appealing appearance.

Typically getting a dental crown is a prolonged procedure. The dentist will have to take impressions, provide you with a short-term crown, await the crown to be returned from a lab, and then have you come back to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about two hours.

Our same day crowns are created in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM means "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take images which are then computer-analyzed and used to produce a crown.

This crown is in fact milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and get rid of any need to send out impressions or photos to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to come back for a second visit.

You also will not have to get a crown, because our long-term crown will be immediately offered to you.

If you want to meet our dentist for more information about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, contact our practice.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide scope of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Detecting problems with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to detect:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Big on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the physician to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a big format for easier detection of problems, all while reducing the radiation exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also allows us to send out and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
