The Advantages Of Using Same Day Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It permits you to have your dental crown put in place in just one dental visit.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which copies the appearance of your natural teeth thus making it visually pleasing. It does not trigger temperature sensitivity which is true when it comes to dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same sturdiness as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more accurate. The impression made from this brand-new technology is more precise as compared to traditional impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while standard dental impression is done using salt alignate.

The only downside of a single visit crown is that not all patients are candidates for this treatment. Patients with extensive tooth damage that has reached the gum line requires a standard crown instead of a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth requires a laboratory-manufactured crown since they are thoroughly made than same day crowns.

If you are interested with this sort of treatment or you have additional questions or concerns relating to same day crowns, call us today.

Today's Subject Is:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is required when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and identify issues early). Often deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it requires root canal treatment. When this occurs, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it should be treated, and can not recover by itself. It can even deteriorate the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be really uncomfortable. Signs that the pulp has ended up being infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no symptoms appear and the person is unaware of any problem until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. As soon as the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
