Don't have time for the normal two dental visit crown?

Technology today is changing our everyday lives. Many individuals, however, aren't aware that innovation also is impacting dentistry in brand-new and interesting ways.

Advanced innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, triggering less discomfort and developing gratifying results.

One advancement instrument, called same day crowns, allow dental practitioners to rapidly fix damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, conserving patients time and trouble.

What are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, mean that a dentist can quickly restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a top quality ceramic product that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, incorporating a camera, computer, and milling device in one instrument.

The dentist utilizes a unique camera to take a precise photo of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD innovation to develop the restoration. The CAM takes control and immediately develops the restoration while the client waits.

Finally, the dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface area of the old tooth. The entire process takes about two hours.

What does this development do for a client?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dentists don't need to produce temporaries or take impressions and send them to a laboratory. Because of this, the traditional 2nd appointment has actually been removed.

Same day crowns have 20 years of medical research study and paperwork to promote the technology. The restorations have been shown accurate, safe and reliable.

How can I learn if this is an alternative for me?

Call our practice today and we will be glad to address your concerns on this new innovation.

Porcelain Tooth Veneers

Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and attractive smile.

Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Just like a lot of dental restorations, veneers might someday need replacement; however, they are still very resilient and will last years, giving you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy typically involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy typically involves 2 visits because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory produced veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is generally less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
