If You Need A Dental Crown This Is Probably The Best Choice

Getting a crown has long been known to be a two-visit dental experience. Lots of people have no idea that this is not the case with same day crowns. For our lucky patients, getting a crown only takes one visit!

The Old Fashion Two-Visit Way

At the first appointment, impressions are taken of the tooth and the impression is sent out to a laboratory so that your long-term crown can be made. Many people dislike the goopy impression products that can make them gag and that takes up to five minutes in their mouth to set.

Then your tooth is shaved down so that your crown can be placed on top of it. Then you get a short-term crown cemented over the shaved tooth to hold you over till your permanent crown shows up from the lab. Then later, you have to go back to the dentist, have the short-term crown removed and the new crown positioned on your tooth

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

Today We Will Be Going Over:

Ultra Sonic Tooth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for most adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners develop microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and removing plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help keep optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can eliminate tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling frequently uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning suitable to those with vulnerable teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfy.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits and after that polished.
