A Few Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental procedure that is often required when somebody's tooth is broken or if the tooth has degraded to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Normal crowns are fairly bothersome to get, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a terrific choice since they are more convenient and lead to less discomfort:

A Lot Less Painful

A conventional crown can result in discomfort for a couple of factors, however among the most significant sources of discomfort and pain is a result of having to use a temporary crown.

A short-term crown is applied as a placeholder to safeguard your exposed tooth until your long-term crown can be delivered to your dentist. This can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

The issue with a short-term crown is that they are not extremely strong, which means that they can break or come loose extremely quickly.

A broken or loose short-term crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both of which can cause quite a bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves below the short-term crown.

Another source of pain originates from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can get to the point where it can get rather unpleasant and begin to bleed, which also opens the course for potential infections.

Thankfully, a same-day crown will provide you with a permanent crown at the end of your first visit to the dental practitioner.

This gets rid of the requirement for a short-term crown, thus enabling you to avoid all the discomfort and pain.

Convenient

A traditional crown is not a very convenient procedure to have carried out, mostly since it usually takes a minimum of two visits to finish.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will have to make another visit to have it fixed. This can be a huge issue if you have a busy schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents taking some time off in the middle of a hectic work day.

However, a same-day crown can be finished in a single day, with a single appointment. This is enabled due to the fact that lots of dentists will purchase the devices to make their own crowns, instead of needing to buy crowns from a dental lab.

This lets you avoid the trouble of needing to potentially spend weeks and numerous visits to your dentist before the treatment is over and finished with.

Speak with your dental practitioner and ask about the benefits provided by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can supply you with a convenient and fairly pain-free option to a standard crown.

Today We Will Be Talking About:

Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for many adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and getting rid of plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can remove tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling frequently uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning ideal to those with delicate teeth.

  • The cleaning process is quicker than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and after that polished.
