Dental crowns are used to strengthen a tooth, and return it to its original function. Dental crowns are made to color-match the nearby teeth, so they can not be spotted by others as being anything less than a permanent tooth. With a dental crown, you are able to eat anything you like, and your clear speech will never be interfered with. In fact, your dental crown is so natural feeling, you will not even know it is there in your mouth.

Same day crowns are a really interesting offering of our practice. We are able to provide you with a stunning new smile in simply one day. Our office has state-of-the-art equipment that permits dental practitioners to offer you with crowns in simply a small portion of the time that was required previously.

CAD/CAM technology is what makes this interesting development possible. The acronym represents computer-aided design/computed-aided manufacturing. We have the ability to use this innovation in our system. This system is used to restore teeth, start to finish, in one day. This will save you from an extra appointment to our practice, a week or so later. We're sure you have a lot more amazing things you would rather do with your time than to sit in our dentist's chair any longer than you have to!

Using our brand-new system, we scan the prepared tooth in your mouth or from an impression, then send the information to our in-office milling station. The restoration is computer-milled to the precise specifications to fit your mouth in minutes. As soon as the crown is crated, we put it in your mouth, and color, polish and restore your new tooth to a lovely and natural-looking radiance. This technology can also be used for same-day veneers or inlays.

If you require a crown in a hurry, for an upcoming social or business occasion, this procedure may indeed be ideal for you. If you are interested in finding out more about this process, contact us today for an appointment.

Dental Crowns

A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the whole tooth surface area restoring it to its initial sizes and shape. A crown protects and reinforces the tooth structure giving the tooth a longer life span than it would have if brought back by fillings or other kinds of restorations.

Crowns are full coverage restorations that are utilized to cover a tooth that is most likely to break, or is too broken down to be recovered with a filling. They are most commonly done after root canal treatments, or when a large filling breaks. The bigger the hole made by a cavity that needs to be treated, the more likely a crown will be required. Even after a filling is put in a large cavity, a tooth is more likely to break. Keep in mind that the jaw muscles are the strongest in the body. Teeth are subjected to tremendous pressures. Crowns ride over the weakened tooth, offering strength and protecting the tooth against breakage. A broken or split tooth is a much more serious matter and a lot more tough to treat. Crowns prevent this, along with producing a nice smile.

It takes two visits to recover a tooth with a crown. In the very first visit any decay is removed from the tooth and it is formed to accept the crown. Then an impression is made of the tooth for use in producing a crown. Between the two visits the crown is made, typically of high-strength porcelain over gold alloy, all ceramic material, or gold. A temporary crown is used throughout this time. In the second visit this short-term crown is removed. Then the {permanent crown is adjusted as needed and then cemented in place.

What Does Getting A Crown Include?

A crown treatment usually needs 2 appointments. Your very first appointment will consist of taking impressions that will be utilized to produce your customized crown. A mold will also be used to produce a temporary crown which will stay on your tooth for approximately 2 weeks till your brand-new crown is made by a dental lab.

While the tooth is numb, the dentist will prepare the tooth by eliminating any decay and forming the surface area to properly fit the crown. Once these details are accomplished, your temporary crown will be positioned with short-term cement and your bite will be checked to guarantee you are biting correctly.

At your second visit your temporary crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your new crown will be carefully placed to make sure the spacing and bite are precise.

You will be given care instructions and encouraged to have regular dental check ups to check your crown. As always, proper oral hygiene will help extend the life of your brand-new crown.
