Today's Discussion Will Be About:

Dentures (Dental)

There are various kinds of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have actually become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is examined and a decision is made regarding which teeth will have to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are put in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular capability and look return and one just carries on as usual. Commonly implants can be utilized to further support the dentures.

It is very important to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures impact the kind of food you have the ability to eat, your confidence in social circumstances, as well as your self-esteem.

A Few Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other treatments

An upper complete denture will usually feel much better than a lower complete denture. In order to significantly improve the fit of a lower full denture, we often suggest using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially enhance comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has been in use for a number of years.
