At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, exactly what are same day crowns and exactly what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this innovation for many years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to replace damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in just one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single appointment, typically in about an hour.

So what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth product and scan the readied tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everybody enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the designing of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent to the milling device.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not built up layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the machine, which is much stronger.

The block is then precisely sculpted to produce your brand-new restoration, which is fantastic.

Finally, the customized crown restoration bonded flawlessly into the tooth, reinforcing and sealing it at the same time and then we clean up!

We have to ensure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. Today's Topic Will Be About:

Porcelain Teeth Veneers

Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and attractive smile.

Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to many dental restorations, veneers might someday require replacement; however, they are still extremely durable and will last multiple years, giving you a long lasting, beautiful smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy usually involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is typically referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique typically involves two appointments because the veneers will be made at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is typically less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
