2 Reasons To Speak To Your Dental Expert Regarding Same Day Crowns

Same day crowns are a great option that makes getting a crown far more convenient and less time-consuming. These crowns work in similar way as standard crowns, except that same-day crowns are made in the dental practitioner's office while you are waiting, rather than being bought from a dental lab like traditional crowns.

Listed below are 2 reasons to talk with your dentist about the possibility of getting a same day crown:

A lot more Convenient

Convenience is going to be the best reason that many people choose to opt for a same-day crown.

In the past, getting a crown would mean that you would need to pay multiple appointments to your dentist before the crown was in place, with one visit devoted to preparing your tooth and another appointment to position the permanent crown over your tooth.

While that might not look like it is too time-consuming, it can often be difficult to require time off from your job or family numerous times in the space of a week or two in order to see your dental practitioner during regular business hours.

Because the same-day crown is manufactured in-house by your dentist, you will have the final crown fitted over the tooth before you leave from your one required crown appointment.

This is useful since you won't have to fret about irritating your boss, having your colleagues cover for you, or losing out on pay since you had to leave in the middle of the work day multiple times to go to the dentist.

A Lot More Comfortable

Another reason to ask your dental practitioner for a same-day crown is comfort. Same day crowns are more comfortable due to the fact that you will not need to spend a week or more having a temporary crown while awaiting your permanent crown.

A short-term crown can often provide quite a bit of inflammation and discomfort since it can typically end up being loose quickly.

When a temporary crown is loose, it can enable liquids to get under it and touch nerves in the exposed roots of your tooth. The loose fit can also cause the short-term crown to shift along your gum and cause the skin to end up being scratched and inflamed.

While you usually do not need to have a temporary crown for long, a same-day crown can enable you to avoid any issues related to the temporary crown completely.

This kind of crown is going to be both a lot more comfortable and a lot more practical to obtain than a traditional crown.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment in which we use a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be used in specific circumstances where a tooth has actually been broken or become stained. These are usually small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively inexpensive means instead of through a more costly dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the alignment of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to get a lustrous finish as a last step.
