The Advantages Of Using Single Visit Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It allows you to have your dental crown put in place in just one dental visit.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which mimics the look of your natural teeth therefore making it visually pleasing. It does not cause temperature sensitivity which holds true when it comes to dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same durability as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more precise. The impression made from this brand-new technology is more precise compared with traditional impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while standard dental impression is done using salt alignate.

The only disadvantage of a same day crown is that not all patients are candidates for this treatment. Patients with substantial tooth damage that has reached the gum line requires a standard crown instead of a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth requires a laboratory-manufactured crown because they are thoroughly made than same day crowns.

If you are interested with this kind of treatment or you have more questions or concerns regarding same day crowns, call us today.

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure in which we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific scenarios where a tooth has been broken or become stained. These are generally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly affordable means rather than through a more costly dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to change the alignment of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
