If you have a fractured or broken tooth, are experiencing pain when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperatures, or wish to get rid of unattractive metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be an excellent alternative for you. Dental Crowns cover the visible surface of the affected tooth, adding durability and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are a choice that we provide on a case by case basis to clients who would gain from the treatment. They allow clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This removes the need to have a temporary crown placed then another appointment scheduled for the placement of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our new technology that scans the mouth to get the proper measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, and then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are very strong and long lasting and constructed of the highest quality porcelain available. In many cases, a gold crown might be recommended for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clench your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the expense may vary between the two and you may want to discuss your budget too with the your dental practitioner. Your dental practitioner will discuss with you the kinds of crowns available and give you a suggestion based on your certain scenario.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device designed to replace missing teeth. The device is usually constructed of titanium and is surgically put into the jawbone where the tooth is missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and traditional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants provide a smile that looks extremely natural. Surgically put below the gums over a series of appointments, implants connect to the jawbone and serve as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants offer stability since they connect to your bone, a procedure called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some people also find the secure fit is more comfy than traditional substitutes. Candidates for dental implants should have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

How Involving Is A Dental Implant?

A dental implant might be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this treatment, a small titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which in addition slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is securely embeded in the mouth, the dental practitioner then works to connect the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent option has the advantages over bridge work that it does not stress the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can merely be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be utilized as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an alternative to partial dentures, and has multiple benefits. First, there is no modification period to acclimatize the patient who, once the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no discomfort or problem in eating. And, best of all, of course, they do not need to be taken out all the time.
