What's So Special About Same Day Crowns?

In a typical dental practice, getting dental crowns is a long and often an unpleasant procedure that can take numerous weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which enables us to scan, design, and mill lovely tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Picture coming into our dental office to get a crown and leaving the same day with a strong, durable, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more information!

More About The Same Day Crown Process

Throughout your appointment, you and your dentist will talk about the details of the procedure and your dental practitioner will address any concerns you may have. Your dental practitioner will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a broad scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

Today's Subject Is:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain circumstances where a tooth has actually been damaged or become stained. These are typically minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably affordable means rather than through a more expensive dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the positioning of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface area. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
