What Are Same Day Dental Crowns?

Same day crowns are a new innovation that a dental practitioner can financially restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How Does It Work?

Same day crowns use a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, incorporating a camera, computer and a milling device in one instrument. The dentist uses a unique camera to take an precise picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD innovation to create the restoration. Then CAM takes over and immediately creates the restoration while the client waits. Finally, the dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The whole process takes about one hour.

What Does This Technology Mean For A Patient?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Dentists no longer need to develop temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the standard 2nd visit has been removed. This new innovation has over 10 years of scientific research and documents to support it. The restorations have actually been proven accurate, safe and efficient.

A Beautiful Smile!

A beautiful smile is among your greatest assets - a reflection of joy and good health.

Thanks to current innovations in dentistry, getting the smile you always imagined is simpler - and faster than ever.

Today We Will Be Going Over:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Finding problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, pricey procedures or surgeries. X-rays are primarily utilized to detect:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Large on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the doctor to see images of the teeth in greater resolution on a large format for much easier detection of problems, all while reducing the radiation exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
