Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you quickly be requiring a dental procedure that will cause you to require a dental crown? If so, you may be beginning to dread the time you will have to spend at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we provide a excellent time-saving solution for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we incorporate state-of-the-art technology and treatments to supply our patients with the very best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who have to get dental crowns, we are very delighted to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is normally made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to enhance a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a seriously discolored tooth that has to be restored to its initial, appealing look.

Generally getting a dental crown is a prolonged treatment. The dental practitioner will have to take impressions, provide you with a temporary crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a lab, and after that have you come back to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are developed in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM represents "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to create a crown.

This crown is actually milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and get rid of any need to send out impressions or images to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to return for a second visit.

You also will not have to get a temporary crown, because our permanent crown will be instantly offered to you.

If you wish to meet with our dentist to find out more about same day crowns or to get a same day crown, call our office.

Today's Conversation Is About:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover problems early). Often deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also trigger the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal treatment. As soon as this takes place, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not recover by itself. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be extremely uncomfortable. Signs that the pulp has actually ended up being infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no symptoms are apparent and the person is unaware of any problem until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. Once the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is suggested for recovering a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
