At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have actually now been using this technology for many years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single visit, generally in about an hour.

So what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth material and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and start working with the computer.

Everyone enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent out to the milling unit.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not developed layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your brand-new restoration, which is great.

At last, the customized crown restoration bonded effortlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and then we clean up!

We need to ensure that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be used in certain circumstances where a tooth has been broken or ended up being stained. These are normally minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly inexpensive means instead of through a more costly dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close spaces between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a shiny finish as a last step.
