Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers might one day require replacement; however, they are still extremely durable and will last multiple years, offering you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique generally involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is generally less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care instructions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and stunning veneers.
