2 Benefits Offered By Same Day Crowns

Crowns can frequently be a bit of a inconvenience to get, primarily since standard crowns will often need numerous visits before the treatment is actually finished.

However, lots of dentists have actually chosen to buy the essential tools to fabricate same day crowns within their practice.

Listed below are simply two of the fantastic benefits offered by selecting a same day crown:

It's Convenient
Searching for time to obtain a traditional crown can be more than a bit difficult for anyone that has a hectic work or home life.

It can be very hard to convince your boss let you take time off in the middle of the work day at least two times in the span of a couple of weeks to finish the process.

This is required for a crown treatment as you will need to visit the dentist to have your tooth prepared for the crown and after that go in again a week or more later in order to have the final crown used.

However, you do not need to stress over requesting time off multiple times or to get a sitter for your kids more than once during a same day crown procedure.

Because the dental practitioner can make your crown in the office, he or she can generally use the permanent crown as soon as your tooth is treated and formed for the crown.

This is great as you will not need to take the chance of inconveniencing your boss, coworkers, sitter, or family.

They Are More Comfortable

Another reason to consider a same day crown is merely because it can be a fair bit less agonizing than a standard crown procedure.

This is because the fact that you do not have to wait several days or weeks between steps in the crown process completely negates the requirement for a short-term crown.

Short-term crowns are used to protect your tooth after your preliminary visit till your final crown shows up and is applied.

Regrettably, temporary crowns will typically not fit all that well which can cause liquids and food getting under it and reaching your exposed nerves and triggering discomfort.

In addition, an ill-fitting temporary crown is going to be prone to moving around. This shifting can cause the temporary crown to scratch your gums or the inside of your cheeks.

Sure, this type of crown is just meant to be worn for a brief period of time, but it can be quite unpleasant for that short period of time.

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be used in specific scenarios where a tooth has been broken or become stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable methods instead of through a more costly dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a shiny finish as a last step.
